RECOVERY Assistance Dogs Will Win at CRUFTS
RECOVERY Assistance Dogs went to CRUFTS 2017 for the first time and raised over £1,168.That just shows how the wider public, especially those that love dogs, appreciate how these Assistance Dogs help their owners to recover from Mental Health problems. We gave away over 500 Rosettes for a small donation to people who recognise the winning work that dogs do to help with Mental Health problems like depression, anxiety, loneliness, agoraphobia, PTSD, Schizophrenia, Bipolar, Eating Disorders and Personality Disorders. Many people would like a RAD Dog to win the Friends for Life award at CRUFTS 2018 that:
“Celebrates those dogs in our lives that provide lifetime service, support, love and devotion. This is a showcase of how dogs can be true heroes and make an extraordinary contribution to our lives and in many cases, change our lives.”
“Many of us at RECOVERY Assistance Dogs have completely recovered from Mental Health problems with the help of our trained dogs.” Liz Maitland says, “Clients have recovered from Bipolar, Schizophrenia and Common Mental Health problems thanks to the training we do to help the dog stop symptoms of panic attacks, anxiety, anger, grief and fear.”
Liz has written a book called ‘Training Dogs for Your Wellbeing’ that was sold at the CRUFTS Stand. The training exercises prove with the help of a short survey that ‘training a dog is definitely a therapy for Mental Health and Wellbeing’.
You can buy this Training Manual for £5 on the website www.RECOVERYAssistanceDogs.org.uk
All the money goes towards this amazing Charity with it’s Dog Training expertise to help people to recover their wellbeing when they have a diagnosed Mental Health problem.
